A Trip Down Memory Lane – Harry Potter

Our day in Park City had been amazing, but we still had an evening activity. This activity was not something we had done before but it was definitely a memorable NEW adventure. When we would bring our kid’s for our end of the summer trip, we always try to include new experiences, so this fit right in with the day’s theme of Adventure. We have several family members who are huge Harry Potter fans, so when we heard that “Harry Potter, the Exhibition” was in Utah, we purchased tickets. SLC was one of only a few cities, world-wide that hosted the exhibit in 2025. Our son Jade is our biggest fan, he even brought his robe and wand.

Jade loved every minute, even when our guide said “on a scale of 1-10, how is your Harry Potter knowledge”. Jade answered, 10. She replied, “Don’t you mean 9 3/4…lol

They had gone to great lengths to have an immersive experience whether you were a Harry Potter newby or expert.

We had Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws.

However, most people walking through the exhibition identify as Gryffindors.

The exhibit had displays from the movies and a commentary that explained the set designs.

There were lots of interactive exhibits…

Jade enjoyed experience everything…from looking in the crystal ball, to making your own potions.

He tried to explain to the non-Potter fanatics about the “screaming plants”.

Hagrid’s Hut

A Hungarian Horntail

There was even a Quidditch skills game

We all touched the stone and were “transported” to a new place

And the phone booth to get to the Ministry of Magic

The Magical Conclave of the United States (MACUSA) and the vault door of the Chamber of Secrets…

The house Harry grew up in with his room under the stairs

We had epic battle of the wands.

Our faces appeared in the memory mist

It was an amazing experience whether you were a Harry Potter fan or not.

We ended the day completely exhausted but still managed to play a game of checkers. Our adventure day was a huge success.
