Every other year, we try to do a No Kids Allowed (NKA) trip with our adult children. Due to schedules and our daughter having a new baby, we have to do separate trips this year, so this was the first of several NKA adventures. Even though Jade isn’t married and has no kids we still called it a NKA.
We have sailed this cruise itinerary 2 times before, the last time in 2009. At that time we did an amazing excursion in Puerto Vallarta. Our youngest daughter went on the cruise in 2019 and did the same excursion and told us we had to go back. So this cruise was all about an excursion. The ship set sail from the Port of Long Beach.

On our way to the port….

We had booked the cruise on the Carnival Panorama.

From the top of the ship, you can see the RMS Queen Mary. It was a British ocean liner that sailed for Cunard Line from 1936 to 1967. It has been permanently docked at Long Beach since 1967. It is open for tours and is considered one of the Top 10 Haunted Places in the US.

The sail away party was fun…Jade is in the back.

Our room is ready and waiting for us was our first towel animal.

We had two days at sea and we won two general trivia games. The prize was “Ships on a Stick”…lol. This is the first time we have ever won trivia on a cruise ship.

On our 2nd day at sea, we had a bunny rabbit for our towel animal and also sailed past Land’s End in Cabo San Lucas. This would eventually be our 3rd port.

It had been abit chilly in Los Angeles, but by the second evening, the weather warmed up. We enjoyed a late evening deck party.

On the third day we arrived in Puerto Vallarta. On our excursion you ride a zodiac boat across the bay, then transfer to a cargo truck, then climb on a mule. You then do a zip and dip back down the mountain.
Our port pictures…

There was a weight limit for the excursion and the “boys” watched what they ate the first two days of the cruise, so they could participate.

We had a short walk on the pier around the Panorama

Then we jumped onto the Zodiac and headed across the bay…the area looked completely different than 15 years earlier

From the beach we walked to board the cargo trucks for the drive up the mountain to the resort

At the resort we were assigned guides and ziplining equipment.

You aren’t allowed to take your cameras or phones so we bought the picture package. The following pictures are from the Puerto Adventure photographer…The Welcome Picture

Our mule pictures…

The upper section of the zip line…

We rappelled down the waterfalls, behind us.

We then did a water slide

Jade’s turn

We did another zipline…

We then did this crazy thing called the “Rollercoaster”. You are hooked into a sitting harness and connected to a fixed metal line that has dips and drops. You then plunge into a pool of water. Jim was up first…

It was Cindy’s turn and the bounces were so big she lost her helmet…

Then Cindy hit the water so hard, that she got water up her nose…lol

Last was Jade…

We then did the zipline called the “Surfboard”. Jade went with one of our guides.

Jade’s showboating almost made them fall at the end!!

Jim and Cindy weren’t as brave as Jade..lol

There was one last HUGE waterslide, but we only have videos. We are putting together a video of our day. Look for it on our Facebook page BAM Adventure Travel in the near future.
We had a great time. So much fun and well worth taking another Mexican Rivera cruise.

Back at the resort they had a lunch for us, some fun games, and we took pictures with our mascots Willy P and Spuddy.

We hopped back on the cargo truck and enjoyed a few minutes on the beach before boarding our boat.

We loaded back into the zodiac and headed toward the ship, with an exhausted group of zippers and dippers!!

On the boat ride back our guide decided to stop at the “The Arches”.

Each island has an arch, thus the name.

The zodiac captain drove into one of the arch. Pretty cool!!

The islands are home to frigates, terns, and pelicans. There were hundreds of them.

There was a frigate camouflaged in the rocks, but it’s blue feet gave it away.

Back at the ship we had a sea gull waiting for us in our room and an amazing sunset as we sailed away from Puerto Vallarta.
