Disney Cruise Part 3…Castaway Cay

Advertisements

Castaway Cay is Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, so of course there is going to be a character Meet n Greet. Kaylee loved meeting Donald Duck.

Jade is a huge Pirates of the Caribbean fan, so with Jack Sparrow as one the Meet n Greets, we had to stop.

Jade was super excited to get an autograph

Since we were celebrating Uncle Mike’s 80th birthday, Aunt Shirley did a very special thing…she reserved cabanas for our group and we arrived by private golf cart. You can see how excited Wade was about our Cabanas

Part of the group went and ran/walked the 5K route, specifically so we could earn the medal.

Since it is not really a race and is on the honor system that you finish, we took our time and had fun…

There is a tower along the route that you can climb. From the top you can see how flat the island is.

We finished the 5K and earned our medals!!

We grabbed some lunch at the buffet, but the cabanas also have a wait staff that will bring you drinks and ice cream.

It was now time to enjoy the beach in front of our cabana.

It had been a rough morning, so it was a good thing the cabana had a pack-n-play, beach chairs, and a couch 🙂

The views from our deck were amazing!! We even had a short rain storm, so we were glad for the shelter of the cabana.

Uncle Mike got ice cream from the buffet and the birds tried their best to get the last drop. Even with us shooing them away, they were persistent!!

At the end of the day, we had a private “taxi” back to the ship. Boy did we feel pampered!!

Back on the ship, we got our last look at Castaway Cay. The cabanas were a great success, and well worth the time and money to reserve them.

We now had Pirate night to look forward to. One thing on a Disney cruise, there is always something to do.
