Spring Break…Disney Cruise 2023- Part 2 The Bahamas

Our first dinner on the Disney Wish was at the 1923 Restaurant. Everyone wore their favorite Disney ears.

1923 is significant, because that is the year that the The Walt Disney Company was created. It was originally known as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio.

…Dinner was Amazing

Dessert…yummy!!

After dinner we met the Disney Wish crew

We explored the ship and found a fun Cinderella statue

We met our room steward and enjoyed the first of his many towel creations.

The next morning we had breakfast in various venues. Mickey waffles are always a great way to start the day.

After breakfast, we met in our aunt and uncle’s room for a view of Nassau

Part of the group had an afternoon snorkeling excursion, so we used the morning to explore Nassau.

The Disney Wish is Minnie Mouse’s ship and she is the “Captain”.

We walked the short distance to Queen’s Staircase.

The Queen’s Staircase are 66 steps that were carved into limestone in 1794, creating a shorter route between Fort Fincastle and Nassau.

In the late 1800s, the steps were named in honor of Queen Victoria of Britain.

The Queen’s Staircase is a very impressive area as it was carved entirely by hand.

On the way back to the ship, the Bahama Port Authority was stamping passports. It was Whitney and Wyatt’s first passport stamp.

On the Disney Wish, you can walk to the very front of the ship. While, Jim and I stayed on the pier, our “crew” went to the front for a picture.

We grabbed a quick lunch and headed to our snorkeling excrusion.

We sailed on a catamaran and grabbed a spot on the front

Sailing out of the Nassau bay was beautiful

It was a 40 minute ride to the snorkel area. We had a great time. The water was clear and warm, and we saw a few fish.

After we returned to the catamaran, a local gentleman came along selling Conch shells. Jodi couldn’t resist buying one. There was some discussion if this was okay, but the catamaran crew assured us, it would be okay. At the ship, they took more convincing. Jade had a great time, blowing it all the way back to the pier.

We enjoyed the nice leisurely return trip.

The kids enjoyed abit of Caribbean dancing

As we neared the port, we had a great view of the 4 ships that were in port.

Back on the ship, we enjoyed the presents Aunt Shirley had placed at our door and saw the Locke’s new towel animal

All 13 of our group, met for dinner at the Avengers restaurant.

During dinner, there is an interactive show.

We had a matching light on our table that lit up. You could even buy matching commemorative mugs.

The dessert menu was pretty clever…lol

We then had a visit from Spiderman!!! He moved so quickly, it was hard to get a picture.

After dinner, we enjoyed the Little Mermaid show.

We ended the night, by starting a new interactive ship game, it was in the testing stages when we were on the ship. This game would take the skills of everyone, particularly Jade, and the remainder of the cruise to finish all 4 parts.

It had been a great day in Nassau and on the Disney Wish. We made our way back to our room at midnight where we had a crab waiting for us in our room.

Next up…Disney’s Castaway Cay and Pirate night!!!
